ABOUT ME

Stephen Morris is an independent scholar who lives in New York City. He has studied Byzantine and medieval history and theology at Yale with Dr. John Boswell and Fr. Aidan Kavanaugh as well as at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Academy with Fr. John Meyendorff and Fr. Alexander Schmemann. He has written on patristic preaching and exegesis as well as medieval and Byzantine hagiography.

 

 A former priest of the Orthodox Church, he served as the Eastern Orthodox chaplain at Columbia University. He has also taught teens with autism as well as other severe/profound challenges and special needs.


Stephen, a Seattle native, is now a long-time New York resident and currently lives in Manhattan with his partner, Elliot.
